CSN student-loan repayment calculator 2026

Estimate a Swedish CSN student-loan payment plan from the balance, interest, term and an optional annual payment increase.

Your CSN repayment assumptions

Enter the remaining loan balance, choose a source year and term, then compare monthly or annual payments. Use the adjustment field as a scenario, not as a promise about CSN’s annual amount.

Your details

The published CSN rate is loaded for 2025 or 2026.

Use the balance shown by CSN, not the original amount borrowed.

This simplified planner supports 1 to 25 years.

Monthly is 12 periods; annual is one illustrative payment per year.

Advanced settings

2026 published rate is 2.135%. Change it only for a scenario.

Set to 0% for a level-payment schedule. CSN’s actual annual amount follows its own rules.

Analysis & guidance
  • Use the current balance

A balance from your CSN statement produces a more useful scenario than the original borrowed amount.

  • Test a zero increase

Set the annual increase to 0% to see a level-payment comparison before trying a faster-payoff scenario.

  • Verify your individual plan

Age, loan type, income-based reductions, new borrowing and CSN’s annual calculation can change the real amount.

About this calculator

CSN student-loan repayment plan 2026

CSN issues an individual annual amount. Your loan type, balance, interest, age and remaining term can all matter. This calculator is therefore a planning model: it shows a conventional amortisation scenario and does not replace the payment plan CSN sends you.

The 2026 interest rate

CSN lists a 2.135% student-loan rate for 2026. The government sets the rate every year, so later years can differ. You can change the advanced rate field for a scenario. This planner does not assume an interest deduction for payments made from 2026.

How the model works

Enter the remaining balance, choose one to 25 years and select monthly or annual periods. The first payment uses a simplified amortising formula. An optional annual increase, such as 2%, raises the planned payment each year and usually shortens the payoff. Set it to zero for level payments.

Read the result as a comparison

The first monthly amount is a monthly comparison even when annual frequency is selected. The total sums the modelled payments until the balance is repaid or the selected term ends. The preview shows payment, interest and principal for the first five years.

Why your CSN amount can differ

CSN may account for age, loan type, earlier payments, new borrowing, income-based reductions and older loan rules. The annual amount can also change when the interest rate changes. Always check your current CSN payment plan before committing to a budget.

How the calculation works

A planning model, not your CSN invoice

CSN sets an individual annual amount using your loan type, age, balance, interest and remaining repayment time. This tool models a conventional amortising plan so you can compare scenarios; it does not reproduce every CSN rule or decide your invoice.

The 2026 interest rate

CSN states that the student-loan interest rate is 2.135% in 2026 and changes every year. The year selector loads that published rate, while the advanced field lets you test another assumption. Interest paid in 2026 is not deductible under the current rules.

Annual increases and frequency

The optional annual adjustment raises the planned payment at each anniversary, which usually shortens the payoff and changes total interest. Monthly and annual schedules are both approximations; CSN normally sends an individual payment plan and can adjust it when circumstances change.

Common questions

What interest rate does CSN use in 2026?

CSN lists 2.135% for student loans in 2026. It is a variable annual rate, so future years can differ.

Is this my exact CSN invoice?

No. CSN calculates an individual annual amount based on more facts than this simplified amortisation model. Check your payment plan at CSN.

What does the 2% annual increase mean?

It is an optional scenario that raises the planned payment each year. Set it to zero for level payments; it is not a claim that CSN will increase your invoice by exactly 2%.
