Transition study support 2026
Swedish omställningsstudiestöd from CSN can help people study in mid-career. This is a gross planning tool: compare a selected withdrawal with work, weeks and a simple net scenario.
How the model works
The calculator annualises the gross monthly income estimate, applies 80%, divides by 52, and applies the selected withdrawal. For 2026 the cap is SEK 5,773 per week at 100%; lower withdrawal levels have their own published weekly caps.
Work and weeks
Support withdrawal and planned work should normally fit within 100% together. The calculator shows remaining work headroom and warns when the sum is higher. Maximum duration is 44 weeks at 100%, 58 at 75%, 73 at 60%, 88 at 50%, 110 at 40% and 220 at 20%. Four weeks is only a comparison period because CSN payments can cover four or five weeks.
CSN decides the case
CSN determines the annual income basis, eligibility, application window, study conditions, tax, loan information and final amount. This calculator does not decide entitlement or infer a loan formula.
