Are public holidays removed?
Yes, statutory holidays falling Monday–Friday are removed.
Is Christmas Eve a public holiday?
No. It is often free through agreements, so it is an optional exclusion.
Are bridge days removed?
No. Leave, bridge days, reduced hours, and local schedules remain personal.
Can this decide a legal deadline?
No. Verify the specific rule because it may define boundaries and holidays differently.
A weekday is Monday–Friday. This Swedish working-day result also removes statutory holidays.
Easter, Ascension Day, and other movable dates are calculated for each year.
Christmas, Midsummer, and New Year's Eves are not statutory holidays. Exclude them only when your agreement makes them free.
Choose a start and end date. The calculator first counts every Monday through Friday and then removes Swedish statutory public holidays that fall on those weekdays. The end date is included by default, which suits a work period where both boundaries belong to the period. Turn it off for a pure distance up to the end date.
The calculation follows Act (1989:253) on Public Holidays. It covers fixed dates such as New Year's Day, Epiphany, 1 May, National Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. Good Friday, Easter Monday, and Ascension Day are calculated from Easter for every year. Holidays that always fall on weekends do not reduce the Monday–Friday total.
Christmas Eve, Midsummer Eve, and New Year's Eve are not statutory public holidays. Many employees are nevertheless free through collective agreements or workplace rules. They are therefore removed only when you enable the advanced option. Bridge days, half-days, and local schedules are never assumed.
The result is a useful starting point for projects, invoices, and office-day estimates. For salary, annual leave, commuting deductions, or legal deadlines, verify the specific agreement or rule. Remove personal leave, sickness, parental leave, remote work, and other absences when you need days actually worked.
